RTW Trip – Scotland

RTW Trip – Scotland

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned so far on our trip is that we were crazy to think we only needed 5 days in Scotland, one of the great loves of my life.

Edinburgh

Our time in Edinburgh was mainly divided into 2 activities: hiking around Holyrood Park and wandering all around the city proper. For those who don’t know, Holyrood Park is an absurd park right on the edge of the city with amazing views from the top.

It turned out our last night in Edinburgh was also the last day of the Edinburgh International Festival. This meant we got to watch their amazing fireworks concert. Holyrood Park is where we decided to watch since we had some great views of the castle.

Now, for more pictures of wandering around Edinburgh.

After Edinburgh, we took the West Highland Train to Mallaig. The line is best known for the Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by Harry Potter.

But the rest of the ride is gorgeous too.

Mallaig

I have always wanted to stay at a B&B in a small Scottish town, so we stayed at the Heatherlea B&B in Mallaig.

All of Mallaig was the best. We walked up and down the coast, even to the next town, and hiked some hills in the wind and rain.
